Romblon Island 08/30/2025

Another early morning and we headed to Odiongan Port to catch a boat home to Caticlan and then Boracay. We paid a little extra for tourist/comfort class because they have Air Conditioning and it had gotten a little hot on the first boat from Caticlan. The seat/beds were comfortable but being indoors made it difficult for the tour guide, who is an aspiring entertainer, to practice her singing.

The day started early because the tour guide woke up before 6am with a craving for Jollibees... and we still had the rental car so we drove around Odiongan, Romblon waiting for the restaurant to open. The place actually had really good pancakes. Here is a picture of their parking lot and a picture of a great donut store that was not overpriced.
The rest of the day was uneventful other than a swim in the ocean next to the Odiongan port.

I decided to rent a car so the tour guide could show me the rest of Talisay, Romblon. It isn't that big, but it is much larger than Romblon Island, Romblon. We drove towards Ferrol until the paved road ran out. From there we headed to Looc, Romblon which was actually a cool little town and appeared to have a boat back to Caticlan.
I call this picture, "Caticlan or bust"
I was told there were only boats to Caticlan from Odiongan, Romblon and Santa Fe, Romblon. Next town we stopped in was Santa Fe, Romblon where we picked up some pork chops at Athena's restaurant. Santa Fe was about the size of Looc. We were having so much fun that we decided to continue the drive around the island, back up through San Augustin where we caught the boat to and from Romblon Island, Romblon just a few days before. We even visited our old motel to reminisce.
We stopped in one more town and decided to call it a night.

I switched to another room at the hotel which was cheaper because it had a shared bathroom and my ocean view was booked. My tour guide was feeling better so she negotiated a price with a tricycle driver and took me around the town.

Romblon Island 08/26/2025

2 nights turned out to be enough on Romblon Island, Romblon, even though I didnt make it to the famous sand bar. An overpriced motorcycle taxi arranged by the hotel got me back on a ship called the Montenegro which took me back to San Augustin, Romblon.
From there it was only a short van ride back to the Harbour Court... my favorite place in Romblon (affordable, good food, location, and a friendly atmosphere). The new room was even facing the ocean.
I rented another motorcycle when I got there, which was very convenient.

I decided to stay another night at the Hoeizon Hotel and rented one of their motorcycles.
It only took a couple hours to ride around the perimeter of Romblon Island.
Romblon is know for producing marble.

The Horizon Hotel was comfortable and the restaurant was good. The pool was just the right temperature.
There were two boats to Romblon Island, a large ship at 4am and a small banana boat in the afternoon. I took the afternoon banana boat which was a nice ride.
I decided to stay at a nicer hotel, was a toss up between the Sunshine Resort and Horizon Hotel. The Sunshine Resort is supposed to be very nice with a private beach, but you have to catch another boat there because it is on its own private island. The Horizon Hotel was comfortable and the restaurant was good. The pool was just the right temperature.

Trip to Romblon Island 08/23/2025

We stayed in another port hotel at San Augustin, Romblon. This hotel was very small but right by the boat which operates at 4am and 1pm. We stayed overnight at the motel. The town of San Augustin is very small but has beaches and the auditorium/basketball court was being used for a music concert which was fun.
They also had a little fair with food booths.

Trip to Romblon Island 08/22/2025

It turned out the boat to Romblon Island was no longer available from Odiongan so we had to take a jeepney to San Augustin. I had a small argument with the driver because of the price which led to another overnight at the Harbour Chateau. The jeepney was alot more in Odiongan than Cebu, granted it was a long but scenic ride. The 13 peso ride in Cebu was 200 pesos in Odiongan. Then the drivers wanted 3,500 for a private van and my tour guide walked off.
Everyone slept on it and we took the jeepney the next morning for a small discount.

Trip to Romblon 08/21/2025

I took a trip to Romblon Island, Romblon after hearing good things about the beaches. Instead of planning the trip I decided to hire a local tour guide to handle things.
The best route seemed to be a ship ride from Caticlan Port to Odiongan, Romblon and then a car ferry to Romblon Island. The 2Go ship ride to Odiongan was uneventful but nice. A school of baby dolphins followed the boat which was interesting.
We stayed at the Harbour Chateau because it was next to the Odiongan port and we planned to catch a boat to Romblon Island the next day.
